The NATO Energy Security Centre of Excellence (ENSEC COE) is reaching out to share an exciting writing opportunity for young people interested in energy, security, technology and international affairs.

 The 2026 Energy Highlights Article Competition features two dedicated age-based categories:

• Ages 14–20: “Securing Tomorrow’s Power: How I Can Shape the Future of Energy Security”
 

Participants are invited to submit an original 1,500–3,000 word article in English. Winners can receive €300 for first place and €150 for second place in each age category, with additional opportunities for recognition and publication. The overall competition winner can receive €500 and publication in Energy Highlights.

Submission deadline: 31 October 2026.
